“Does this printer come with a single cartridge mode so you can only use black without replacing color ink?”

Printer comes with a black cartridge and a color cartridge. At the time you print, you have a choice to print in color or black. Just choose black at that time.

Yes 3520 comes with 2 separate cartridges

I don't know. Still on black and color cart. I 'm not happy with mine. Never could hook wireless. Had to hook usb.
