I believe that best buy mistakenly labeled this. It is not an "L" lens. My best guess is that they meant to copy the "IS", meaning image stabilization

Best Buy refuses to correct their typographical error. I have notified them of the error quite some time ago and the error persists. It should be f/5.6-8 rather than f/5.6-I. Looks like they sold you an aperture of f/U.

It's an error. It is "f/5.6-8". There is no lens being "f5.6-I".
