“I know the case comes in 2 parts but is the hard plastic part thick? I want to make sure because if my phone is laying down the back camera of the phone won't touch the surface so it won't scratch!”

Yes, the case is thick enough so the camera does not touch

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The back is thick enough to protect your phone and your camera. When you get the outer protective bumper on, it provides a tad bit more lift when laying down. I have not had any problems with this.
