Yes you can also use batteries, 4-AA batteries, in addition to plugging it in. The replacement ink is IR-40T. The paper size is 58mmX80mm

It can run on 4 AA batteries, and the instructions say it can go for 390 hrs, and/or print 3,500 consecutive lines of 6 digits with display. The instructions say the ink roller can be replaced with an IR-40T.
