No as you have to add the authorized family member who can use the device in app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t think it would matter unless they had a way into your network. Even if they had the serial number, they wouldn’t be able to do anything with it unless they were on your network. Everyone knows to have a strong password to their network, but it is even more important when you venture into the smart home hobby. Also, if you have others who need to get onto your network for whatever reason (kids-schools, colleagues-work, etc) then create a guest network attached to yours with a separate password. This way anyone who needs internet at your house can logon to the guest network and you’ll never have to give out your actual network password to anyone! This way you can create a password only you’ll know (don’t write it down & leave it on your desk) and no one else ever will! Sorry for the tangent.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I going to say yes, yes it can. I installed it for a client and it opened their garage door all by itself and it remained open for 48 hours until a neighbor called. See my review. Do not buy this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I never had to enter a serial number during setup. It would be the IP address that would allow someone to open the door without your knowledge. The has good features that can alert you if the door is opened and if the door has been open longer than a preset time. I have mine set to one hour because that’s about the time it takes me to cut the grass. It would be nice if it used geofencing to let you know you left the door open.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello Donald, the email address and password would have to be required for any access to the myQ account. They would not have any access to the previous owners account without that information being provided to them
