The Ring requires 2Mbs of download, so if you do not have that, then you may still have a problem even with the Chime. It will work with less than 2Mbs, but the speed causes a delay in sending the signal for recording. The distance between my front door and the router is on opposite ends of the house, so I needed the Chime to extend the range. The quality of the recording is good with the Chime and without it, I would not have a working system. Besides, I like the chime ring tones. My favorite is the barking dogs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Once I installed the ring chime pro, the picture quality also improved.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The extender runs a private network for the Ring. The Ring device has to reach this device which then converts the signals to your normal wifi network. Once I understood that it was easty to install and use
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on your surroundings, location of the router. My walls outside are brick, so when i put this on the middle of the 1st floor it probably went from 62 to 49 (read only "OK" under Device health). Look into getting a power line adapter. My signal went from 62 to 39 (read Good under Device health). The best option is to use power line adapters.....what this does is takes the data transfers it via electrical outlet to any other outlet in the house. But it has to plug straight into an outlet (don't plug into power strip). Remember the wifi spec for the ring video doorbell is to use wireless 802.11N. Don't overspend and get a newer one that does 802.11AC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.maybe. I know my was choppy at one point but I hardly see it now. The only issue I have sometimes while recording or live view it will pause the video and restart
