The Ring Chime Pro IS a WiFi extender so it helps if your WiFi signal isn't strong enough to reach certain areas.

Any device in your home can take advantage of the improved signal strength coming from this device. If your ring is able to hook up to your existing WiFi signal AND there are not problems viewing the videos on the Ring 2 then you don't need the Chime Pro.
