• You can use a mobile phone (Android 6.0 or higher, iOS 12 or higher) to connect to Chromecast with Google TV using the Google Home app via Wi-Fi connection. However, connecting Chromecast to a laptop as your alternative monitor will not work, as Chromecast requires an HDMI input. • The Chromecast can only plug into a TV with HDMI input or a monitor with HDMI input. The port on your laptop is an output so plugging this into it would result in nothing.
