No, you do not have to use the Circle device over WiFi. I am using Eero Pro Mesh WiFi as my router with the newest Circle (2nd Gen) connected via Ethernet. Works great. There are complaints online where people are saying that it slowing the network down. I have not experienced this. I have a 150mb down & 50mb up internet service. I am getting those speeds over WiFi and Ethernet. Note: Circle will have to be connected to your router. It cannot go between your Modem and Router.
