Yes it does. Still a little tricky to figure out how it works.. Just ask them to explain it to you how it works.

It has the trunk release button on key fob. My truck is older so it didn't matter however when lowering or closing tailgate while alarm is activated it triggers the alarm. And will alert me via text on my smart phone device!

I have it on a pick so can't truly say, however on my pick up when I lower my tailgate especially when I shut it if alarm is engaged it goes off
