No you can use the key fob included. The plans are very pretty inexpensive compared to car manufacturers like Hyundai. If you pay upfront for the year you get a better deal. Also, i got the basic package instead of the premium, because I didn’t need gps tracking,

Once installed in your car, you are very much set to go using it throughout all seasons. It is awesome and saves you the stress of coming out in the cold or hot weather to start your car, until it is nearly or completely at the temperature you want it.
