• Yes, you need you original key or KEYFOB to drive away. Same as you did before you had the remote starter. The remote starter DOES NOT REPLACE your original keyfob

• If the vehicle is push start you need the original key fob in the car like before. The new remote doesn’t replace it. Sadly we got to carry both on the key ring. At least for the Nissan Maxima you do.
