“One reviewer says that Toyota and Lexus vehicles will turn off when the door is opened. Can this be confirmed before purchase or is this only confirmed after installation? I have a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser that shows to be a compatible vehicle. Thank you!”

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like they installed wiring to wrong kill switch, Toyota might have similar wiring harness on doors as starting mechsnism. My first install they wired heating and cooling wiring system incorrectly and AC would not start unless I had the key ignition. So I'd take it back to installer have him check his connections

This is not a real inconvenience, if you desire this remote to start to cool your car in the summer before you get in or heat your car in the winter. This is a very good remote starter.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Some vehicle's OEM keyless entry modules shut down when the vehicle is running. So to unlock the doors, the engine must stop. Occasionally, the remote start makers can find a "work a round".....but sometimes they cant. the process is called a Take Over.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Our 2020 Sienna did the same. It had push button start. It turned off when you open the door. Remember the Toyota stock security is still enabled. When a door sensor is tripped the engine will be Imboiled for security. Now my 2015 with key start does not do this but, if you press the brake it shuts down the engine while the remote start timer is running.
