It will work on both; however, due liability reasons many big box retailers (and now small stereo shops) do not install auto start on manual transmissions. Most manual car drivers have a habit of placing the car in 1st gear when parking, when auto start is used it will cause the car to lurch forward and may impact another vehicle, pedestrian, or may cause damage to the car itself. Reach out to your local Best Buy geek squad auto squad to see if they will do it.
