Would this work on a 5800x3d? null

I would probaly go with a watered cooled for that cpu

It should, I currently have it on a R7 5800x and it keeps it pretty good temps so i would assume it would on the 3D, might want to be careful if you overclock it, if you do i would recommend adding another fan to help transfer heat.
