• Doubtfully, these 12 pin connectors are made for 3000 series GPUs ONLY. I believe your referring to the NVIDIA 4000 series GPU's. In any case never severely bend any cable at it's connection both at the power supply and GPU. Never install an Nvidia 2000, 3000 or 4000 series GPU in a small computer case or any computer case without plenty of room in the case and adequate ventilation. Do not install high powered GPU's in store bought computers.

• Hi Apollo, This cable should not short your GPU as long as you are using it properly. For the 8-pin connectors, make sure to use two separate 8-pin connector cables and not a single cable with dual 8-pin connectors.
