No, the thumbrest is fixed in place. You may want to try this mouse in person before purchase. There is a Corsair Harpoon mouse that does not have the thumbrest, but it is also physically smaller and built more for those who claw their mouse instead of palming.

No. However, the thumb button is more recessed than on other mice, plus it has much more resistance so its harder to push. Best design for a (hyper shift / sniper button) I've seen so far. You won't accidentally press it.
