My understanding is that mixing different speed RAM modules will slow your system down to the speed of the slowest RAM module installed. In general, this can introduce timing issues that will adversely affect system performance. Whether a 2400MHz module will actually work in a specific 3000MHz system would best be answered by the manufacturer of that specific system. Bottom line: as someone who has worked on digital electronics for many years, I would NOT attempt to save a few dollars by mixing different speed RAM modules. Hope this helps. Janet
