I have a X51 R2 and it needs a DDR3 240 pin. These would work for my machine. Don't go above 16gb total on your RAM, 16gb IS THE MAX. Make sure you have your correct model cause the X51 has several revisions, that is what the R is for. R2-R3 ect. Make sure you know what your revision (R?) is. Hope this helps.
