Should I lock the lid when cooking? null

Instructions say NOT to lock the lid while cooking. I just set the lid on the Crock without locking, and it worked fine. It says locking is only for moving/transport once cooked.

I have twice , worked like a pressure cooker kind of, it has a small vent hole built into the glass lid, any pressure builds up it will come out of vent , and my be very very hot
