• Yes you have to purchase a subscription for activation. Its not a free app

• Just like a cell phone each Cube GPS tracker requires a subscription to the data plan. Monthly plans are $19.95/month. Annual plans are $16.50/month paid in advance ($198.00). You can start and stop the service anytime in the app settings. Once a plan is canceled you will continue to have service until the plan runs out.
