You could use a battery pack to recharge if you needed. However, I just used it for 4 hours in the middle of the woods and it only lost 2% battery - 4% as of right now and its been 9 hours. It also can detect when you are home and will put itself into sleep mode to conserve battery. Slightly concerned to as why you would use it in a metal shipping container but I believe it would work. As long as your cell phone works and there are ample cell towers nearby it will work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can hook this up to an external battery pack. You can also set the update interval longer to extend the battery life. The cube could have trouble accessing satellite locations from inside a steel container.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn’t actually get GPS data from a satellite, it gets location data triangulation from cell towers. So unless you have a cell tower on the ship that has your shipping container, no it will not work. Also, depending upon the container, the cellular service may be little to none as far as penetration.
