To answer your question I have the instruction manual in my lap - the booklet states that the toaster is covered by a limited 3 year warranty (though, as you probably already know, you can purchase a warranty through BestBuy). The booklet reads: "We warrant that your Cuisinart Metal Classic 4-Slice Toaster will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use". If it proves to be defective within that time period they will repair it or, if necessary, replace it.
