• Yes there is a preset for toast adjustability light to dark, we set the knob to the position over the last letter "m" in the word medium, and get a perfect brown toast.

• Yes, it does have a preset for toast and an off/on button. The preset is a bit intuitive but you get so you can estimate it with use.
