I cannot imagine why you would not be able to. It comes with a metal rack and drip tray. I would, though, instead put the bread on a slice of parchment paper that you put on the drip tray. That seems to me like it would be easier. But, as I said, I cannot imagine why you could not do it the way you asked. BTW, this has become my all-time favorite thing ever. EVER!
