• No. The top and sides get extremely hot while in use. I believe they suggest 4-6"of clearance.

• YES. The manual recommends that the oven is placed 2 to 4 inches away from the wall or any other items on the countertop. They don't specify a clearance above the unit, but in my kitchen, sitting on the counter, there is 7" of clearance above the top of the unit. That is about double the specified lateral clearance and is more than adequate. These ovens are designed for this type of location.

• be careful, it gets hot and emits hot air just like any oven. not cool like a microwave.
