• I had mine for 6 years and the letters still looked brand new

• Like most buttons with text that are screen printed (rather than etched, applied, or inlaid) onto an appliance, it depends on usage and care. It took about a year of weekly use before we started seeing significant wear. Too, we didn't follow the "apply the cleaning agent to a cloth" as instructed which resulted in premature loss of the text all over. The unit has given us four flawless years, and with the LCD display, we've not really missed the faded text.
