If you should ever be without power long enough to drain this unit, there are no special steps needed to reset it. Once power is restored, the unit will return to an "on-guard" state and resume charging.

If there is enough power to support the load, the unit will restart and vice versa. If the battery is depleted, the unit will likely need some time on line power to charge and the unit will need to be manually powered back on. Thank you for submitting your question!
