“Does this have to be in upright position or can it be laid on side”

• HAS TO BE UPRIGHT!! The way the battery is placed and how the UPS is configured, it's built to stand upright.

• This could be place sideways but I would allow a little space underneath it. The gel cell batteries don't care how they are oriented.

• Upright position cause vents are on each side of unit.

• You don't want to lay it down because on both sides are the air vents to help keep this cool. The batters are sealed so that won't hurt them but you could over heat the unit

• It does not have feet on the side but I have used them on their side many times with no harm.
