Hello Keitho, While the unit is working on line power, the unit is fairly quiet. The fan in the unit will turn on when using battery power and there are audible alarms when there is a power issue, which can be silenced unless the unit is overloaded. Thank you for submitting your question!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Negligible to no noise under AC power ... alarm comes on when you lose power (basic alarm clock loudness in that case). If there is a fault they typically chirp. Essentially: if its making noise you either have no power or there is an issue with it.
