Some seeing that there is another UPS in the sequence will simply shut down when there is an outage. Always use only one UPS that has the capacity that you need. I use multiple UPS's and split up the devices between them. Some UPS's have software that allows you to see the total power being consumed and an estimated run time. That helps to calculate what you need regarding the size and number of UPS's you need. Cyberpower is one such brand.
