The first thing to take note of is that pings are different depending on the location of the site you are pinging. To get a true comparison you would need to ping the same site from both devices. Also, both devices need to be using the same connection type, like wireless or wired. Often game servers have higher ping than simply pinging a website, as well. Try pinging a server that you know is closer to you. Or run a speed test and let it pick the server. Ping can be influenced by a lot. If you are pinging a server across the country it will take a bit longer to send the signal back than pinging in the same state.
