Building any computer in the end would be better because you would build it specifically for you. The cost effectiveness I doubt would be comparable as these parts are ordered in high quantity so they get them cheaper than individual parts could be bought. Then you get into the whole knowledge of building your own as well as being able to install all of the software. But if you like to build computers then you would already have the knowledge. It in the end is up to if you want to deal with the headache of matching all of the stuff up so it works.
