“After receiving the computer I bought a Viewsonic xg2401. After pluging both the monitor (displayport came with the monitor) and the pc. The monitor says no signal. I opened up the panel and firmly push the cords to see if that worked. But it didn't. Help”

Does the monitor itself have any buttons, like a menu button? On my monitor, I had to cycle the menu to get to the desired input (in your case display port). Your monitor may be set to HDMI input. Just a suggestion.
