Also, if the system is shutting down, there may be a power supply issue. My system had an Apevia PSU, which I changed to a Corsair when I upgraded the GPU. From what I have seen, if you have an Apevia PSU, that may be your problem; the system is shutting down due to excess power draw tripping something.
