• is the monitor plugged into the motherboard or the graphics card? if it's plugged into the motherboard it uses the cpu. if it's plugged into the graphics card, then it uses the graphics card

• Being that mine died in 5 months, I'd say you have a hardware failure. This brand is garbage. You probably need a new video card, or power supply. You can check bios and see if its set to use the card, but more than likely you're out of luck with a piece of hardware, like myself. hate to see Best Buy selling rigs like this. Lesson learned.
