Thanks for reaching out Arin. As your motherboard uses the AM3+ socket, it should be able to upgrade to an AMD FX-8350 without swapping the motherboard. However, if you plan to move to the Ryzen or Intel CPUs, you will need to upgrade your motherboard according to the socket you are using.
