“Does this system really have no support for 5.1 surround speakers or am I missing something? I assumed that any system in this price range would have 5.1 support but I guess a new sound card needs to be purchased? Thanks, in advance, for response.”

Thanks for reaching out BigSteve. This PC does not come with speakers however it does have an onboard sound card. If you want sound, you will need to either get your own speakers or use a headphone/headset. If you want to add your own surround sound speakers, you are more than welcomed to.
