“Does this camera (DCS 8525LH) support uploading video or images to your chosen FTP server? The old D-Link cameras all listed in their specs which software protocols they support, but I don't see that anywhere in this camera's specs.”

No. Unfortunately, this 1080p (DCS-8525LH) does not support an FTP Server. It only allows you to save to the (subscription-based?) cloud.
