Hello Tish, Thank you for your question. The shelves in this unit are removeable so that you can accommodate different size bottles or cans. Please note that the temperature range for this model is approximately 6C~14C (43F~57F) as it is a wine chiller. The running amps are 1.5 however the starting amps (when the compressor initially turns on) can be up to 6 times the running amps. Regards Ann
