“When the door is opened, does that increase the width of the unit? We have the space for the vents, but want to know the maximum width when door is open.”

Hello, Thank you for your question. The DBC93BLSDD is a free-standing unit that requires 5 inches on all sides including the back and open space above. Building in a free-standing unit would invalidate the warranty. Regards Ann H Consumer Service
