“I have a very old HP hard drive. Can I take it somewhere and have all the docs, pics out into a flash drive or CD??? This hard drive has a ton of pics of when my children were babies through elementary age.”

I suggest you call Micro Center. They just did a data transfer for me.

However, since I was still using Vista I decided maybe it was time to just get a new laptop. Like you I had a lot of documents and files that were important to me. The Geek Squad transferred all of those things onto a flash drive. My question to you is, is your hard drive still in your computer or have you removed it. Mine was still in my computer. I'm not sure if it makes a difference, you would have to talk to the Geek Squad. After transferring my files to the flash drive they gave me back the old hard drive, however, you can decide to just let them dispose of it.

It connects to your computer with a standard USB cable and has plenty if capacity to store all your pictures.
