The Defender AI Powered Sentinel 4K Ultra HD 8-Channel PoE NVR Security System uses PoE (Power over Ethernet) cameras, which means the cameras are wired, not Wi-Fi cameras. With a PoE system, each camera connects to the NVR using a single Ethernet cable. This cable provides both power and video/data transmission, making the installation cleaner and more reliable than traditional systems that require separate power and video cables. While the cameras themselves do not connect to Wi-Fi, you can still view them remotely using the Defender App. To do this, the NVR must be connected directly to your internet router using an Ethernet cable.
