• Sure. This would be fine for that. Just make sure that after you hook up the speaker to your receiver that you run your speaker setup again to balance everything out. This would be connecting the little mic that should have come with your receiver and following the prompts to run through the setup again. I have it hooked up to a 7.2 system and it works very well for me.

• I had this speaker before anything else and used it for music it sounded great. It sounded even better when I added my Polk audio subwoofer
