• Yes you actually program the sound bar it's self not the remote to accept input from your remote. The instructions are on def techs tube channel. Super easy

• you can program to use your cable remote, instructions can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH7n961OE6k you need to press and hold the source button again for 5 seconds after you program and repeat for each command. Unfortunately this doesn't work for the new Comcast X1 voice remote.

• I have been trying to get my xfinity remote to control the sound output with no luck. so far I am stuck using two remotes, frustrating.

• As long as you have Comcast/xfinity you should be able to program it to work with that, if you are trying to use the tv remote I do not believe you can.
