Yes you actually program the sound bar it's self not the remote to accept input from your remote. The instructions are on def techs tube channel. Super easy

you can program to use your cable remote, instructions can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CH7n961OE6k you need to press and hold the source button again for 5 seconds after you program and repeat for each command. Unfortunately this doesn't work for the new Comcast X1 voice remote.

I have been trying to get my xfinity remote to control the sound output with no luck. so far I am stuck using two remotes, frustrating.

As long as you have Comcast/xfinity you should be able to program it to work with that, if you are trying to use the tv remote I do not believe you can.
