• Split screen is more a component of your video card . . . I'm using this monitor as my primary, and using my old monitor as a 2nd screen. I needed to get a new video card, because my PC did not have an HDMI output. You should check the back of your PC to see what video outputs you have, and which one is already in use. If there's an available HDMI or VGA out, you're good-to-go.

• Not sure what you mean by split screens, but depending on what OS or application you use to do the split screen, this monitor is a decent size for that. Plenty of space to view using split screens.
