• I am using two of these monitors with a 2019 MBP (non-M1 chip). They work great, but I can't speak to the M1 MBPs.

• Yes, this monitor is great to hookup to newer MacBook models. I hook mine up to a MacBook Pro and it works super well. You'll need an adaptor, but it's easy and no-fuss other than that.
