Not by a novice. You have to remove the screws in the bottom cover.
You can buy a replacement battery from a third party. It plugs in under the bottom cover. I have no idea how long the original battery will last - maybe 2 or 3 years like any other battery.

You will have to remove the bottom of the case to access the battery. I usually get about 6 hours out of a charge. Drops a little with heavier use. Still think that 4+ hours is not unreasonable.

Don't know if it is replaceable or not but most all lithium batteries are rated for minimum 500 charging cycles. Hope this helps.
