This kind of discrepancy occurs all the time. I think what happens is that the company designs with a certain goal in mind, and then exceeds this goal by happenstance, but won't quote the higher limit because then they would be legally liable for every computer with that model number to meet those specs.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This model definitely works with 64GB RAM, and I've seen a 96GB RAM kit "guaranteed" to work with it, but haven't tried it. I'm trying to find out if it will support 128GB RAM before dropping $300 on memory that I might not be able to use.
