This comes with a i5-7300HQ processor which is a very good processor but there are faster. A top of the line Intel laptop processor is the i7-7820HQ.which would cost hundreds more and is only available on more expensive models. Probably cost about 2k. I bought this one for my daughter who is a mechanical engineer uses 3D CAD software and it does very well. Best Buy has a good return policy so if it doesn't run the software well you can return it.
